Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

I was looking for an upgrade from my 80s Korean Squier II and saw this at Guitar Center for $200.

It had a great vintage look. It even sounded great even when not plugged in. This guitar felt as good as any other Fender that was in the $400-$600 range without the stress of those prices. I liked that it was Alder and that is was finished in silver sparkle wo/ any real imperfections. I've gigged around with it as my Main guitar (yes my main guitar) and it's a trooper.

I changed the machine heads after a few gigs because they simply sucked. I had to get it set up because it was a little out of intonation as well. Not bad for a squier. It was much better than a Squier strat.

For the most part, it is a great cheap investment.

I liked it so much I am buying a second one and putting different pick ups in it as a back up.
